New York, NY. (Mercury Seed Official Website) - THE MERCURY SEED returns to quench America's thirst for melodic, well-written guitar-fueled rock. THROWING ROCKS AT THE SUN serves up a long, tall drink.

Coming off a breakthrough year in which the band appeared at Toronto's NXNE (North By Northeast) Festival, was selected by XM Radio to open for Bon Jovi before 15,000 fans, and made the finals in the inaugural Emergenza Music Festival, THE MERCURY SEED has finely honed their classic sound with the most emotionally charged — and most memorable — songs of their musical career.

When listening to THROWING ROCKS AT THE SUN, the band's well-amped approach to soaring guitars, catchy hooks and rock 'n ' roll swagger delivers pure aural pleasure. On the new CD, THE MERCURY SEED — Volker (vocals), John Jackson (guitar), Joe Nemcheck (guitars), Gary D'Andrea (bass) and Rob Langer (drums) — discovered intriguing new ways to update its sound, adding textures and dynamics to the mix. The new songs reveal THE MERCURY SEED's determination to prevail against all obstacles and make music with no expiration date. College Radio is quickly responding, as the album is rapidly gaining adds at stations throughout the Northeast.

The collection showcases a band that is dynamic, raw, impactful and, above all, real.

As Rolling Stone Contributing Editor Anthony DeCurtis said: "People talk these days about a rock and roll revival, but for The Mercury Seed, the music was not only never dead, it was always fiercely alive. These guys are true believers who play it and mean it from the depths of their souls."

Plant "The Seed" in your musical consciousness.
