Chicago, IL. (Top40 Charts/ Buddy Guy's Legends Website) - Buddy Guy's Legends will be staying put at 754 S. Wabash Avenue in the South Loop neighborhood of Chicago for the time being. Mr. Guy announced in January of this year that the club's lease on the building owned by Columbia College would be up May 31st. Although that date has come and gone, Buddy Guy's Legends continues to operate in its current home and will continue to do so until doors are ready to open to the public in a new location.

Five-time Grammy Award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Buddy Guy opened his world-famous club in June of 1989. Ten years later, in 1999, Columbia College acquired the building. It was agreed then that, some time in the future, Buddy Guy's Legends would relocate as Columbia College would eventually need the space for expansion. Columbia College has been very accommodating and has negotiated terms with Buddy Guy's Legends that will allow the club to remain open at 754 S. Wabash Avenue for the time being. Buddy Guy's Legends is looking forward to new location but no move will be taking place in the immediate future.

The club is still running as usual, with live music seven nights a week. Live music at lunch Tuesday through Friday has also been added, making Buddy Guy's Legends the only venue in Chicago where patrons can dine and hear some down-home Chicago blues during the day.

Summer is a celebratory season at Buddy Guy's Legends. Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival will be happening this year on July 28th so to celebrate Mr. Guy's participation in this much-anticipated concert, Buddy Guy's Legends is boosting the line-up the entire last week of July. More immediately, though, an anniversary party to commemorate Buddy Guy's Legends' 18th year will take place on Sunday, July 1st. Buddy Guy will be on hand to celebrate while his younger brother Phil takes the stage.

Buddy Guy's Legends is the only place in Chicago to experience the finest in blues seven nights a week, enjoy southern Cajun soul food and behold a major archive of blues memorabilia. Voted "Best Blues Club" several times over by Living Blues Magazine, Citysearch and AOL City Guide, Legends continues to be a mecca for blues.
