London, UK. (Top40 Charts/ Virgin Records) - In celebration of this year's Kerrang! Awards, the annual Kerrang! Day of Rock nominations launch party is back at Virgin Megastores with headliners, Enter Shikari, leading an all-star line-up on Wednesday 8 August.
Nominations for this year's Kerrang! Awards which take place on Thursday 23 August 2007at The Brewery, London, will be announced at Official Retail Partner, Virgin Megastores', Oxford Street store during an exclusive day of live performances by some of the most popular rock acts around.
Headlining the Kerrang! Day of Rock will be St Alban's four-piece, Enter Shikari. Variously described as post-industrial, post-emo and screamo amongst other titles, Enter Shikari have had a meteoric rise to rock stardom during 2007 with their trademark sound – loud, unforgiving and raw. After selling out their pre-Kerrang! Awards show at the London Camden Barfly on 20 August in less than two minutes, this small show is sure to be a rare and memorable occasion.
Back by popular demand is the one and only Fightstar. Having played a phenomenal set at last years Day of Rock they are back to wow the crowds again. Northern Ireland's finest rock 'n' rollers, The Answer, will also be gracing the stage with their bluesy, harmonised, riff heavy rock. They will be preceded by one of Wales' most hotly tipped bands, Kids in Glass Houses.
Finland 's finest export, Turisas, will kick off the day. Still fresh from playing a storming, bloody set at this year's Download Festival, they are sure to start things with a bang.
