Days Difference believes music is about people with every song they write. "Experience, conviction, and the passions and sorrows of life really define who people are," says vocalist Jeremy Smith. "Really, it's the things we and the people around us go through every day that inspire us to write and play. We want to create something tangible, something our audience can relate to. That's what we are about." Drummer, Jonathan Smith, adds, "Our band's name, Days Difference, is the idea that everyone should live each day like its their last. Live life to the fullest. Don't regret not pursuing what you really love. Take risks, jump at challenges."
The two sets of brothers have done just that. They started the band in the spring of 2004. Both Jonathan and Jeremiah Ricks dropped out of college. Jeremy turned down music scholarship opportunities. Micah Ricks forewent college all together. They all quit their day jobs early in 2006 to focus fully on the band.
As for their live shows, they are a powerful, raw, display of emotion. The music swells from intimate to intense. Days Difference believes in allowing space within their music. "We feel the most passionate performances come from well-written songs that are also simplistic in nature," shares guitarist Jeremiah. "You can't really hide mistakes when every instrument can be heard as clearly as the next. It makes for a much better experience for the listener." "It's like the CD, but better," includes bassist Micah. 'Numbers' had a soft release June 5, 2007 on Black Dog Recordings, but has a new bonus track version available now. "Numbers" is a culmination of the growth and experiences Days Difference have shared over the past two years. "Our sound has gone through multiple changes since we first started. It's taken time to find what works and doesn't work," explains Jeremy. "We've begun to really define what we're doing musically. The album is a testament of just that.
