Spice Girls Comes Back Again?

LONDON, UK (SUN newspaper) - The Spice Girls could reunite for a concert tour and a new album. Former "Scary Spice" Melanie Brown has begun making overtures to former members of the 1990s U.K. girl-group sensation.

Brown flew to the U.S. on September 23 to meet with former "Sporty Spice" Melanie Chisholm, according to British newspaper the Sun. The paper says the ex-Spices are considering a Spice Girls stadium tour of the world. Chisolm and former "Ginger Spice" Geri Halliwell, who was the first to leave the quintet, have enjoyed the greatest solo success on the charts.

Halliwell currently hosts the new British TV show, Popstars: The Rivals, but has not yet been approached for a reunion. Chisholm is at work on the follow-up to her 1999 solo album, Northern Star, which included her U.S. hit "I Turn To You."

Brown just finished a run in London's West End, appearing in the play The Vagina Monologues. In March, she sold her multi-million-dollar mansion and split with her husband Jimmy Gulzar in a settlement that cost her more than a million dollars.

The remaining ex-Spice Girls have remained active as well. Victoria "Posh" Beckham recently gave birth to her second son, Romeo, and is also set to sign a $1.5 million deal for a photo book. She is recording, but currently without a record deal. Emma "Baby" Bunton was recently dropped from her label.

The group's original label, Virgin Records, says that at present, there are no plans for a new record. The Spice Girls have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.
