NEW YORK, NY (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - "15," the blockbuster third album from Eleven Seven/Atlantic recording group Buckcherry, has been certified platinum by the RIAA for sales exceeding 1 million units. Released April 11, 2006, the Los Angeles-based hard rock outfit's "15" kick-started the rock revolution with a remarkable 91-weeks-and-counting run on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart, powered by four enormously successful multi-format hit singles: "Crazy Bitch," "Next 2 You," "Everything," and "Sorry." The band will perform "Sorry" live on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on January 24.

Despite the continued decline of record sales nationally, Buckcherry have succeeded in increasing their own sales on "15" over both of their previous efforts. Their 1999 self-titled debut, which spawned the massive No 1 hit "Lit Up," has sold 775,000 units -- most of which when the music industry was at its peak. Now, behind the fourth single "Sorry" entering the top 10 at Hot AC and top 20 at CHR/Top 40, the band has reached platinum and will likely double all previous sales -- during the worst decline the music business has ever seen.

Accolades for the band's success through real music are pouring in, lauding the band for bringing rock back despite the music industry's failed focus on manufactured hip-hop and pop. Said fellow Eleven Seven Music label mate, Sixx: A.M. and Motley Crue bassist, Nikki Sixx, "Few bands are savvy enough to write hit songs that aren't just the flavor of the week. Buckcherry have stood the test of time and overcome adversity -- which allows them to not only make rock history, but pave the road going forward, too." Or, as Jed Gottleib at the Boston Herald put it, "Hundreds of bands score gold records. Hundreds more have Top 40 singles. Yet only a handful of lucky and brilliant artists... become part of the American experience."

After a four-year hiatus from recording and rejections from every major record label, the band put out "15" through indie Eleven Seven Music. Their success led to an upstream deal with Atlantic Records in May 2006. Buckcherry achieved this success the way the music industry has forgotten -- by writing and performing great music. Touring the country with over 300 shows, grabbing RIAA-certified platinum status on both the ringtone and digital single for "Crazy Bitch," and crossing "Sorry" over to Hot AC and Top 40, Buckcherry have shown that they are the next great American rock band.

Said Eleven Seven Music CEO Allen Kovac, "The music industry's culture of failure is predicated on manufactured music for an invisible fanbase. Buckcherry have proven that real rock sells to real fans. Rock is back!"

Buckcherry is: Josh Todd - vocals * Keith Nelson - guitar * Jimmy Ashhurst - bass * Stevie D. - guitar * Xavier Muriel - drums.
