LOS ANGELES (Usher Fans Website) - Usher's masquerade birthday celebration held Monday (October 14) at The Highlands in Los Angeles drew support from numerous celebrities, including his girlfriend and TLC member Rozanda "
Chilli" Thomas, Alyssa Milano, Ja Rule, Ashanti,
Bobby Brown, and Rick James.
Some 1,000 attendants were provided with masks and were required to wear all black, a theme enhanced with two caged panthers staged on the patio upstairs. At midnight, Usher, K-Ci of K-Ci & JoJo, and comedian Jamie Foxx went on stage to joke and sing along to songs. The evening's playlist, dominated by picks from the 1980s, was highlighted by songs from Michael Jackson, Vanity 6, and Prince.
Prior to entering the party with Thomas, Usher said that he could not take the credit for conceptualizing the night. "You know what? It was an idea that I can't just take all of the responsibility for. My mother, J Pat Management, and Arista Records. They came up with an idea, and concept. I just wanted it to be exclusive. I wanted it to be unexpected. Something very different. And something that people would talk about for weeks to come."
Usher would also have folks talking if he received his dream birthday gift. "I want a Lamborghini, man. And five more wishes to go with it. Think about all the tickets I'm going to get in that Lamborghini? I'm going to need a few wishes to get me out of that."
Also in the house were L.A. Laker Robert Horry, former Laker John Salley, Chante Moore, Kenny Lattimore, Dream, director Dave Meyers, Christina Milian, producer Mike City, Vivica Fox, MC Lyte, Bosko, Issys, magicians Penn & Teller, Tisha Campbell, Duane Martin, and Jennifer Nicole Freeman, among others.
