Dylan Covers Warren Zevon In Tribute To Ailing Him

SEATTLE (Bob Dylan Fans Website) - Bob Dylan covered three songs by Warren Zevon during his performance at the Key Arena in Seattle on Friday (October 4), in tribute to the singer-songwriter who is stricken with inoperable lung cancer.

Dylan performed Zevon's ballad "Accidentally Like a Martyr" early in the show and later sang two more Zevon songs, "Boom Boom Mancini" and "Mutineer."
The 21-song, two-hour set also included a version of the Rolling Stones' "Brown Sugar."

Dylan classics during the concert, which was the opening night of his new tour, included drastically reworked versions of "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right," "It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)," "Love Minus Zero/No Limit," and "Mr. Tambourine Man."

Dylan played more keyboards than guitar and only blew harmonica a few times. He also featured material from last year's Love And Theft. His current band features Charlie Sexton and Larry Campbell on guitars, Tony Garnier on bass, and David Kemper on drums.

Dylan appears at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California, on Friday and Saturday (October 11-12), and also plays a string of three dates next week at the refurbished Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, October 15-17.
