LOS ANGELES (System Of A Dawn Fans Website) - System of a Down is digging deep into its vaults for the pre-holiday release of Steal This Album on American Recordings/Columbia Records.

The street date and final track listing aren't ready yet, but fans can expect 12 to 17 tracks that date back to before the group singed with American in 1995 and go through the Toxicity sessions last year.

"We don't consider any of these songs B-sides or outtakes," says singer Serj Tankian in a statement released Wednesday (Oct. 16). "The songs that didn't make it onto Toxicity are as good as, if not better than the songs that did -- they weren't originally included because they didn't fit the overall continuity of the album, and we're happy that our fans will be able to hear them in their completed form."

Some of the songs that might make it onto the album, which is currently being mixed by Andy Wallace in Los Angeles, are "Innervision," "Fuck the System," "Pictures," "Boom," and "American Dream," which were part of the Toxicity sessions. Another planned track is the acoustic "Roulette," which dates back seven or eight years.
