New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Roadrunner Records) - Finnish sensations NIGHTWISH can't and won't be stopped. The female-fronted, Euro-metal band returns to the US for their second headlining tour in support of the phenomenally epic new album, Dark
Passion Play, which has scanned over 60,000 copies since its
September 2007 release.
This tour, which crisscrosses the US and Canada, comes hot on the heels of the band's sold out Fall tour, where they debuted new singer Anette Olzon to their legion of adoring and curious fans.
These same fans continue to clamor for another dose of Nightwish's soaring, symphonic metal and they're about to get it! Lauded by Outburn as a "damn fine collection of tunes" and by Time Out New York as "utterly compelling, Dark Passion Play sets the standard for progressive, sweeping and room-filling metal that does anything but paint by numbers. Expect the band to perform plenty of new compositions, as well as "classics" from 2004's Once.
