Brentwood, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Sparrow Records) - EMI Christian Music Group artists tobyMac (Forefront Records), David Crowder*Band, and Chris Tomlin (sixstepsrecords) received many of the Christian music industry's top honors at the 39th Annual GMA Dove Awards held April 23 in Nashville.

tobyMac was named Artist of the Year, an honor he first experienced as a member of the multi-platinum group dc Talk in 1996. His latest release, PORTABLE SOUNDS, earned the Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year trophy while the project's 'Boomin'' track won Short Form Music Video. Up next, tobyMac will release the ALIVE & TRANSPORTED concert CD/DVD on May 27.

David Crowder*Band was recognized for Worship Album of the Year (REMEDY), Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song ('Everything Glorious'), and Recorded Music Packaging (REMEDY).

Chris Tomlin took home the Male Vocalist award a third consecutive time, and his internationally known hit, 'How Great Is Our God,' was voted Worship Song of the Year.

Other EMI CMG artists making a splash at the Doves ceremony included Switchfoot—performing its new single, 'This Is Home,' from the CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN soundtrack—and breakthrough artist Mandisa singing with other former American Idol finalists Phil Stacey and Chris Sligh.
