Denver, CO. (Top40 Charts/ Beatport PR) - Thanks to thousands of electronic music fans, Beatport is able to recognize for the very first time, the producers who make electronic music exciting - the results of the Beatport
Music Awards 2008 have been announced.
With the public having voted in 19 categories (which were based on unit sales on Beatport.com during 2007), Beatport is able to recognize the Best Artists that make up the many labels and genres of electronic music.
From Best Trance Artist, to Best Minimal and Deep House Artist, every genre of electronic music has its champion. "We're proud to be able to recognize the best artists in electronic music," said Jonas Tempel, CEO of Beatport. "Beatport has become the download store of choice for global electronic music enthusiasts so it made sense to base the shortlists on unit sales at Beatport.com, with the public having the final say on who wins. Congratulations to all the artists that won."
In order to make the online poll as secure as possible, only registered Beatport users were allowed to vote in the Beatport Music Awards. The shortlist of nominees was announced at the beginning of March and voting was open for six weeks.
