BURBANK, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Sire Records) - The
Veronicas - Aussie twin sisters
Jessica and Lisa Origliasso - will hit the road later this month as very special guests of chart-topping British songstress
Natasha Bedingfield for a 20-city tour sponsored by Verizon Wireless. The tour, which also includes singer-songwriter Kate Voegele, begins May 21st in Myrtle Beach, FL, and will criss-cross the country through July 10th. The girls will perform in select cities in addition to the VIP tour along the way with Bedingfield (tour dates below).
The Veronicas will be performing songs from their debut album "The Secret Life Of..." which has gone platinum four times and scored three Top 5 singles in their native Australia, making the 23-year-old sisters international stars. They will also introduce songs from their upcoming sophomore release, the beat-driven "Hook Me Up" - a dance-friendly electro-rock sizzler that showcases The Veronicas' expert songcraft, organic vocal chemistry, and sophisticated sensibilities.
Already on its way to double-platinum status Down Under thanks to its two Top 5 singles, "Hook Me Up" will be released in the U.S. by Sire Records later this summer. The first single, "Untouched," will impact radio in May. The album was recorded in Los Angeles, where Lisa and Jess are now based, with a host of top notch hitmakers, including Shelly Peiken (Christina Aguilera), Greg Wells (Mika), John Feldmann (The Used, Good Charlotte), Billy Steinberg (Madonna), and their "Secret Life" collaborator Toby Gad, who also wrote Fergie's 2007 hit "Big Girls Don't Cry."
The Veronicas have earned raves for their recent live shows in Los Angeles and New York. As Blender.com noted of an April show in Manhattan: "These girls can sing. And they flip off rock-star moves with the ease of stadium-trained pros." For more on Lisa and Jess, please visit their official website at www.theveronicas.com.
