NEW YORK (MuchMusic TV) - The Nas VS Jay Z beef went one step further this summer when Nas backed out of a scheduled headlining performance at Hot 97's Summer Jam because the station wouldn't let him stage a lynching of Jay Z on stage. This was to be a response to last year's show when Jay-Z dissed Nas on stage during his own show. Upset by the censorship, Nas went on a competing Radio stations and blasted Hot 97 and it's popular DJ, Angie Martinez.

"I was disappointed in him for that because we were always cool and if something was bothering him, he should call me," Angie Martinez told to MuchMusic TV. "But you know what, it's been a few months and I actually spoke to Nas yesterday. It was the first time we spoke since all that happened and he actually apologized which I was really impressed by 'cause a lot of people especially with the ego involved in hip hop, nobody apologizes to anybody for anything. So I was touched by that."

Aside from her popular DJ gig, Angie is also a successful rapper with a sophomore album "Animal House," in stores now. "I've been in the game a long time and that was the first incident I had with anybody," said Martinez. "I'm fair I'm respectful I work hard, I don't ask for nothing, I try to stay out of any kind of beefs or controversies or problems and I think that definitely helps keep you in the game for a minute."
