It has been a massive year for young McCartney as he as also penned the current No 1 smash "Bleeding Love" for pop star Leona Lewis, helping launch her album to No 1 on the Billboard album charts. Jesse has also had major voice roles in two movies over the past year, "Alvin and the Chipmunks" and "Horton Hears A Who", the biggest openings so far in 2008.

In stores now, New York native Jesse McCartney is back with his 3rd and most personal album yet, Departure. A new and edgier pop/R&B sound reflecting his growth as a singer, songwriter and young man. Jesse's first single, "Leavin'", produced by Trickyand The-Dream (Rihanna's "Umbrella") has exploded at radio breaking into the Top 40 Mainstream radio, currently No 27 on the Billboard Mainstream Charts and critics are raving:

For Departure, McCartney sought out many of today's biggest hit-making producers. SeanGarrett (Chris Brown, Usher), J.R. Rotem (Sean Kingston, Rihanna), The Clutch (Ciara, Mary J. Blige), and Eric Hudson (KanyeWest), who Jesse describes as a young Quincy Jones.

'The songs on Departure explore several facets of my growing pains and interpersonal relationships,' says McCartney.

The UK and the US recently experienced a taste of McCartney's poignant songwriting with "Bleeding Love," a song he co-wrote with One Republic's Ryan Tedderfor Brit Award nominee and X-Factor winner Leona Lewis. "Bleeding Love" and her debut album is currently No 1, with 'Bleeding Love' being one of the most played songs at radio across the world.

Since releasing his debut solo album, Beautiful Soul in 2004, McCartney quickly went multi-platinum, racking up No 1 chart positions all over the world, from Australia to Italy to Japan. McCartney garnered countless award nominations includingan American Music Award for Best New Artist, an MTV Awardfor Best Pop Video, as well as several Kid's Choiceand Teen Choice wins and most recently won a 2008 Kid's Choice Awardin the 'Best Movie Category' for his role in 'Alvin and The Chipmunks.
'As an actor, Jesse garnered two Emmy nominations, starred in the hit TV show "Summerland", and recently lent his voice to Theodore in the box office smash "Alvin and The Chipmunks" and 'Horton Hears a Who', which released on March 14th, 2008 yielding $45.1 million in box office sales, the biggest openings in 2008 so far.
