BURBANK, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Warner Bros. Records) - After raising hell across North
America headlining the Fourth Annual Rockstar Taste of
Chaos tour, hard-rock heroes
Avenged Sevenfold will bring their explosive show to
Europe this summer as special guests of legendary metal band Iron Maiden. The tour begins June 24th in Norway and stops over at several major European festivals, including the Twickenham and Leeds festivals in England, before concluding on August 24th at London's Reading Festival.
"I've seen Maiden play countless times and am continually blown away, not just by their live show, but also by the great records they continue to make," says Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows. "We have learned much from Iron Maiden and are honored to be sharing the stage with some of the greatest icons in rock music."
Adds Iron Maiden's manager Rod Smallwood: "It's a tremendous time for metal fans right now with some fantastic young bands making a real mark for themselves. Maiden are delighted to be bringing their fans one of the very best, Avenged Sevenfold. It all adds up to an even more memorable night out for the fans!"
Avenged Sevenfold are currently touring behind their latest self-produced, self-titled album, which topped the Billboard Alternative, Hard, and Rock charts the week after its release on October 30th, 2007. The follow-up to 2005's million-selling "City of Evil," "Avenged Sevenfold" also debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Top 200, marking the biggest sales week ever for the quintet. The album's first single, "Almost Easy," was a Top 10 hit at Active Rock, went Top 20 at Alternative, and was the Number One Most Played Video on Fuse.
The band recently recorded its entire hometown show at Southern California's Long Beach Arena for a live DVD that Warner Bros. Records will release later this year. The package will also include a CD of seven previously unreleased b-sides that were recorded during the making of "Avenged Sevenfold." A video of "Afterlife," taken from the show, is currently available for purchase via all major digital retailers.
