TOKYO, Japan (Top40 Charts/ J FAM CORPORATION) - Singers from the baby boom generation of the 1950s include Madonna,
Michael Jackson and Prince. The Japanese R&B singer JOIN is also from that generation, and his debut album, peace ball, is being released on June 18th from Pony Canyon. His rise is set to become meteoric.
During the day, he's a high-powered businessman at a major firm, but after five he transforms into that slightly bad, yet funky fifty-ish oldster, JOIN.
In a country like Japan where most singers get their start in their teen years or in their twenties, it is extremely rare to an R&B debut from a man in his fifties (around 50s).
Profits Donated to Peace Boat
This album has been produced as a joint project for Peace Boat's peace ball project, to bring soccer balls of love and peace to the children of the world through R&B music, to commemorate the first FIFA world cup to be held in Africa, slated for South Africa in 2010. A portion of the profits from CD sales and live performances will be donated through the offices of the Peace Boat organization.
