Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Valory Records) - "Do You Believe Me Now," the lead single from Country star Jimmy Wayne's new album sky-rocketed to No 9 on the Billboard Country Singles Chart this week, jumping six notches. The title track from Wayne's upcoming album remains in the Mediabase Top 10, road-blocking the No 9 position across both Country charts.
Wayne is no stranger to the Top 10. In fact, "Do You Believe Me Now," marks the artist's third Top 10 hit. His debut single, "Stay Gone," peaked at No 3 and his follow-up single, "I Love You This Much," landed at No 6 more than four years ago. Wayne continued his streak of hits from his self-titled debut album with two additional Top 20 singles.
"Entering the Top 10 sure beats getting your wisdom teeth pulled," Wayne joked when told the news in his dental surgeon's office where he had, in fact, just undergone surgery to remove his wisdom teeth.
"Seriously, this is a really big day for me," Wayne continued. "The entire team at Valory has worked their butts off to get me to this point, and I can't say enough how much I appreciate their efforts, as well as radio for playing this song. I've said it before, most people only get one shot at making it in this business, and I've been given two. I am very grateful."
Ever the trooper, Wayne heads back out on the road this week crossing the country with dates from Rhode Island to Colorado .
Wayne's jump into the Top 10 this week solidifies his status as a consistent Country hit maker and exemplifies the avid fan demand for Wayne's long-awaited new music.
"Do You Believe Me Now" is a smash!" raves Eddie Haskell, Operations Manager of KRST/ Albuquerque and the Citadel Regional Country Format General. "People LOVE Jimmy Wayne and are blowing up the phones for his music. Plus, [there are] over 24,000 views on You Tube of his performance in our CONFERENCE room - BY FAR the biggest video we've posted!"
Wayne's new album, Do You Believe Me Now, will be in stores August 26th. The sophomore effort marks his first recording since his Top 10 self-titled debut, which included the hit singles "Stay Gone, I Love You This Much" and the perennial holiday favorite "Paper Angels."
