
New York, NY. (Shore Fire Media)--"Stellar storyteller" (Chicago Tribune, 4/7/08), Kathleen Edwards returns to touring her "third and best album" (USA Today, 3/4/08) 'Asking For Flowers' (Rounder) in the US this fall. In addition to headlining dates, Edwards will open for Indigo Girls at 6 shows backed by Jim Bryson on piano and guitar. Additional tour dates with John Doe to be announced soon.
Edwards was recently nominated for the prestigious Canadian Polaris Music Prize, which celebrates and rewards the creativity of predominantly independent Canadian musicians. The Polaris Music Prize, which is similar to the UK's Mercury Prize, is a juried award determined by journalists, broadcasters, bloggers, and programmers from across Canada. The winner will be announced on September 29th, and other nominees include Black Mountain, Holy Fuck, Caribou, Stars, and The Weakerthans.
