Mickey Harte has always been molding and chiselling away as a very competent singer and songwriter, he first cut his music teeth at the early age of thirteen and dedication has certainly been his backbone. His sound is very pop/rock with a contemporary acoustic elements to it. His music influences started early in life as himself and siblings were always encouraged to participate in family musical gatherings. He grew up listening to a wide range of music from Glen Miller Orchestra to AC/DC, Christy Moore, The Police etc. As a child he was always encouraged by family and friends to express his passion for music. After his early successes - No 1 In Ireland on Sony Records, more CD singles sold that year than anyone except Beyonce - he made the decision to leave Sony Records. He simultaneously set up his own label 'Swerve'. Although his No 1 release on Sony had put him in a stronger place creatively and musically, he wanted to show the world that he was an evolving/maturing singer-songwriter first and he is now delighted with the his songs and music and directions they are taking and going.
As his popularity & draw grew, Mickey had an amazing time travelling Ireland and abroad extensively and he finished his second album "Live and Learn". Nowadays he does a variety of gigs - sometimes solo, sometimes as a duo and sometimes with a band. His steady band consists of three Dublin based musicians - Paul Daly: Guitar & Vocals, Elton Mulally: Bass and Aiden O'Grady: Drums. Mickey thoroughly enjoys playing in the band. Other players in studio or selectively include: instrumentalist and co-producer of 'Live & Learn' Rory Gallagher (of 'Revs' fame), bass & Brady Blade (drums), studio owner Terry McGinty. He finds when writing a song they don't always sound like the one before...so he is not boxed into one particular genre or sound. A contributing factor to this is the fact he has been working with other songwriters and has some songs cut for other artists albums and projects which for Mickey is immensely satisfying. Recently he been working with - Rob Burke (Ireland), Jack Tempchin (U.S.A. who has multiple million-selling songs for world wide sensations 'The Eagles'), Kieran Goss, Oliver Darly (U.K.), JZ London PopWriters and Billy Farrell ( who has worked with numerous acts - Corrs, etc.)
Currently he is working on his next CD and career moves-in time with his abilities, passion and hunger for music. He "Lived and He's Learned". His immediate plan is to tour outside of Ireland for awhile-to build up additional key markets of UK, Europe and the US. Mickey & his fans are enmeshed in his current album 'Live & Learn' and in late 2008/2009, he's looking to start recording a new album. Mickeys passionate ambition is to bring his songs and music to as many new countries as possible and touch the lives of people with his words and sound. Recent shifts in his business team are very promising-with the great support and help from his management John & Sharon Kenny (ETAK Promotions-Ireland) and the newest addition to the clan Steve Garvan/Garvan Management in the USA/Canada.
