New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - The first song on Ledisi's holiday album 'It's Christmas' (out now on Verve), is a two-minute tear-jerking refrain that reflects on her own Cinderella story. "I'll Go," features gospel composer/pianist Richard Smallwood with Ledisi showcasing her incredible vocal range, belting with sincerity the simple words "I'll Go / I'll Go / Where You want me to go / Go tell it / Go tell it on the mountain."

Ledisi recounts recording what she calls her favorite moment on the record, "It was the last song that I recorded. I was singing "Go tell it!" and I started getting chills and crying. Those few words said a lot to my spirit. It confirmed everything about my journey and why I am who I am. I knew when tears filled my eyes this album was supposed to be. Richard Smallwood is so classic and he gave me his signature on this album. He made time for me. I felt overwhelmed with joy and so honored."

Ledisi's 2007 major label debut 'Lost Found' garnered the Bay Area resident two GRAMMY nominations including Best New Artist. The recognition led to a series of high-profile appearances this year including performances at the JVC and Monterey Jazz Festivals and the Essence Music Festival, a role in the George Clooney film Leatherheads, a song in the Tyler Perry film Meet The Browns, a performance with Prince at Coachella and on the Tonight Show, a BET award nomination, a theatrical performance in the Reprise Theatre Company's Once On This Island, and a week of shows with the Count Basie Orchestra at The Blue Note in NYC starting October 14.

Her powerhouse voice and stories of everyday struggles and triumphs have made such a strong connection with fans that her singles "Alright" and "In The Morning" as well as the album 'Lost Found' continue to appear on the Billboard charts more than a year after the album's release.
