Montclair, NJ. (Top40 Charts/ IMA) - The Independent
Music Awards (IMA) - the awards program for the indie revolution - and Myxer (www.myxer.com), the leader in ad-supported mobile content, have announced the finalists in the Ringtone category of the 8th Annual Independent
Music Awards. The IMAs and Myxer broke new ground earlier this year with the announcement of their partnership for the launch of this mobile component to the IMA program.
Contrary to the other 50+ Music and Design categories that make up the IMAS, in which a panel of influential industry decision makers and artists determines winners, music fans will decide the Ringtone outcome.
Results will be based on the number of free downloads received from the IMA Myxer generated Ringtone Finalists Jukebox and announced in April 2009.
Ringtone finalists will join Myxer's extensive catalog of over 1 million items and have their music promoted to the company's 16 million users.
In addition, as with the general IMA program, the Ringtone winner and finalists will be promoted to millions of music fans and industry gatekeepers including Programmers, Talent Buyers, Journalists, Film, TV & Gaming Music Supervisors via yearlong print, online and broadcast promotions as well as distribution and performance opportunities.
Presenting the 8th Annual Independent Music Awards Ringtone Finalists:

FAN FAVORITES SELECTED AT THE VOX POPULI JUKEBOX
As in previous years, thousands of music fans around the world select their favorites and cast their votes at the Vox Populi Jukebox for all music, design and video categories.
While this 'peoples choice' vote will not affect the Judges' final decisions, these IMA Vox Populi winners will be announced early next year and benefit from yearlong print, online, broadcast, live performance and event promotions alongside formal Winners. Vox Populi Voting will remain open through February 2009.
