Madison, WI. (Top40 Charts/ Amazon PR) - The suggested playlist for The Trouble With Being God, the debut novel from author
William F. Aicher, has been officially announced and features songs from such artists as
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Elbow, Death Cab for Cutie, Ryan Adams, LCD Soundystem and others.
The novel, a philosophical thriller / murder mystery about understanding and coming to grips with who you are, and the frightful and dangerous consequences of thinking you are someone you are not, is one of few novels to be released with companion listening suggestions included as a way to add extra dimension to the story. Throughout the book, song titles are listed in footnotes as suggestions to be played in conjunction with the specific passages.
"It has always been my belief that music can tap deeper into our souls than simple words could ever hope to do," said William Aicher, author of The Trouble With Being God. "This is why the poets of yesterday have been replaced by the songwriters of today, and why certain songs will live on forever as true insights into our souls."
Since the audio is considered to be an additional dimension to the story, rather than a necessity, an audio CD is not included with the book. An iTunes iMix is, however, available and links to purchase the MP3s for songs are available at the book's official site, www.beinggod.com.
