New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - James Morrison is off to a great start in 2009, earning a nomination last week for Best Male Solo Artist at the Brit Awards. Other nominees this year include Paul Weller, The Streets, Ian Brown, and Will Young in Britain's equivalent of the Grammys. Morrison previously won the Brit Award for Male Solo Artist in 2007. Fans in the U.S. can catch James when he performs a killer version of his hit 'Nothing Ever Hurt Like You' with a 10-piece band on Ellen's special birthday celebration show today. Furthermore, his duet with Nelly Furtado, 'Broken Strings,' has reached No 2 on the U.K. singles charts (and is top-10 in six other international markets) and propelled his album 'Songs For You, Truths For Me' back into the top 5 there. Furtado said of their recording session, 'James Morrison and I had a awesome night in Toronto recording this track together. He laughs a lot, smokes a lot, and has a bloody good voice.
