LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Parlotones Official Website) - The super-talented award winning South African band The Parlotones will release their new single 'Overexposed' on March 23, 2009 out on Sovereign Entertainment. It is the taster for upcoming album 'A World Next Door To Yours' (out in May).

The Parlotones are world-renowned for their inimitable music videos. New single 'Overexposed' - a catchy melodic pop rock track is accompanied by an extremely unique and boundary pushing animated video and follows on in similar fashion from their debut single 'Dragonflies and Astronauts', which made the selection for Res Fest 2006 - an acclaimed film festival - and was screened in 60 countries worldwide. It is certain to give The Parlotones the recognition they finally deserve in this country.

The Parlotones kicked off their professional career in 2006 when they signed a European license deal on the back of their debut single 'Beautiful' being used in a Fujifilm commercial. Since then they have become the biggest selling band in South Africa and have delivered over 200 shows in 2008 across SA, UK and Europe. Key performances include Live Earth (MSN rated them one of the top 10 bands to see), Coke Fest and V Fest.

The 4-piece melodic rock outfit have stacked up enough accolades to make them the hottest band in SA. From winning the SAMA - SA version of the Brit Awards - for Best Rock Album as well as an MK Award (SA version of MTV) - for Best Video - they have become unstoppable.

They caused quite a stir at Midem in Cannes this January with an outstanding performance to a capacity crowd at the official Midem Talent showcase and set to do the same at both SXSW and Canada Music Week. With offers flooding in from all over Europe and North America, and having just entered the CMJ Top 200 in the US, 2009 is set to be the year of The Parlotones.

In the first true UK / SA artist exchange, The Parlotones are special guests on Starsailor's UK tour which kicks off on March 26th at Glasgow's ABC and ends in Dublin's Academy on April 16th.

As part of this unique 'Artist Exchange', The Parlotones have reciprocated by signing Starsailor as their special guest on the South African leg of their tour. This is a relatively new way of introducing artists who are huge in their respective countries to new audiences.
