LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Criss Starr Official Website) - Independent musician Criss Starr announced the release of his latest album 'On the Keys', a sophisticated smooth jazz exploration of several RnB/soul classics to much anticipation earlier this week. Featuring Starr's unique and intuitive interpretations of Ribbons in the Sky and Raspberry Beret, as well as Starr's song Break it Down, the entirely instrumental album effectively conveys the lyrical sentiments of the original songs without words.

Starr's passion and talent for expressing the intricacies of human emotions through music developed early on in life - when he first saw the then-unknown Prince open for Rick James. His passion and talent has earned him recognition in the RnB community, as he has since toured with Kenny 'Babyface' Edmonds, in addition to sharing the stage with other RnB greats such as Brian McKnight and Kool and the Gang, as well as Motown legends Stevie Wonder and the Temptations.

Born into a military family, however, this talent was not exactly cultivated, as Starr's family expected him to enter the armed forces after graduating high school.
In spite of this, Starr persisted, teaching himself piano, guitar, bass, and drums along the way. The background of military discipline has actually resulted in an artist whose style resonates with sincerity and thought and avoids the overly sentimental character that plagues many others in his genre. Starr's music exudes a wealth of sensuality and sophistication.
