Nashville, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Columbia Nashville) - For Columbia Nashville's Montgomery Gentry, the nods just keep on rolling in. As recently announced, the award-winning duo is nominated for the 44th Annual Academy of Country
Music (ACM) Awards coveted Album Of The Year nod for their current release Back When I Knew It All. In addition to this prestigious nomination, Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry are also in the running for the ACM Top Vocal Duo for their 9th consecutive year. The awards ceremony, which honors country music's top talent as well as the industry's hottest emerging talent, will be broadcast LIVE from MGM GRAND in Las
Vegas on Sunday, April 5th, 2009 at 8:00 PM ET/PT on the CBS Television Network.
'We've been so fortunate to have been nominated for Duo of the Year several years now and to get a nomination for ACM Album of the Year is icing on the cake,' said Troy Gentry after hearing the great news. 'It is so gratifying to celebrate, what I think is our best album yet, with everyone from the writers to the engineers to our producer Blake Chancey. So much hard work goes into putting an album together and we're just so proud of this.'
And, talk about having something to be proud of; Montgomery Gentry is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of their debut release Tattoos and Scars this April, making this ACM Album Of The Year nomination an even greater honor for them. 'Yeah, we've been putting out records for 10 years now and they just keep getting more fun to do,' comments Eddie Montgomery. 'And, I think they keep getting better. This is real cool ya know, to get an Album Of The Year nomination this year. It's awesome!'
Produced by Blake Chancey, Back When I Knew It All has delivered two back-to-back No. 1 singles; the title track 'Back When I Knew It All' and the multi-week No. 1 smash 'Roll With Me.' To date, this high energy, all out rockin' duo has released more than 20 charted singles and earned five No. 1 hits. Given their undeniable streak of hit records, there certainly is more to come. And, Montgomery Gentry is already climbing the country singles charts again with their new hit 'One In Every Crowd,' landing at the No. 22 spot today. Back When I Knew It All is the follow-up to Some People Change which produced three consecutive Top 5 hit singles, including the No. 1 'Lucky Man.'
This spring Montgomery Gentry will be back out on the road, headlining dates as well as playing several stadium shows on Kenny Chesney's Sun City Carnival tour. For tour information, visit www.montgomerygentry.com
