New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Club World) - For the first time since its inception in 2003, the Club World Awards program will not be hosting a star-studded, super-fun ceremony this year. Blame Bush, blame Obama, blame God. Or just blame the economy.

'It's a situation we know that others are in as well: We just don't have the resources to support our usual shindig,' says Club World producer Kerri Mason. 'And there's nothing worse than a half-ass party.'

But fear not: The Club World Awards - which reward nightlife excellence in 25 categories - will be handed out in Miami. Winners will be visited by the CWA 'Prize Patrol' throughout Winter Music Conference week, and given their disco globes by hand.

As in previous years, nominees were selected by the editorial staff of Club World magazine, and winners were selected by a staff of 10 industry-expert judges. Together, the panel has over two centuries of experience in the nightlife business (see full list below).

But does this mark the end of fun and fair awards ceremonies in Miami?

'Don't worry,' says Mason. 'Just like the stock market, we'll be back.'

About The Club World Awards 2009
The Club World Awards, the United States' definitive nightlife awards program includes individuals and companies nominated in 21 categories, ranging from Best Superclub to Best DJ Product. They represent the gold-standard in clubbing in this country's major nightlife metropolises, as well as those in smaller markets and several located abroad. Nominees were selected from the largest submission pool in the Awards' seven-year history - making this the most competitive year yet. This year's program features established brands that continued to innovate, vying with up-and-comers for the coveted disco globes. As a result, drama is packed into every category (see full list below).

About Club World
