NEW YORK, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) - Photo Finish recording group 3OH!3 has revealed a jam-packed tour schedule, due to keep the Boulder, Colorado-based electro duo on the road through the summer. First up is a co-headlining role on "The Alternative Press Tour 2009," slated to kick off on March 20th with an already-sold-out show at Dallas' House of Blues (see below itinerary). 3OH!3 - who are currently featured on the cover of Alternative Press' April issue - will be joined on the trek by a stellar multi-artist bill that also includes The Maine, Family Force 5, Hit The Lights, and A Rocket To The Moon.
In addition, the duo - who just wrapped a tour in Europe supporting Katy Perry - will hit Austin, Texas for a much-anticipated showcase performance at the annual South By Southwest extravaganza, slated for March 19th at Stubb's Bar-B-Q. Next, 3OH!3 will be among the line-up appearing at The Bamboozle 2009. The annual festival - which will be headlined by the newly reunited No Doubt - is set to rock the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey on May 3rd.
March will also see 3OH!3 finding time in their busy schedule to travel south of the border to Cancun, Mexico, where the duo will tape a performance and appearance for the next season of MTV's blockbuster reality series, "The Real World" (slated to premiere later this year) - for which they will also be contributing the theme song. 3OH!3 will then make their way to Panama City to perform on MTV's annual Spring Break special alongside Lil Wayne, All American Rejects, Black Eyed Peas, and Flo Rida (check local listings for air date).
Upon the AP Tour 2009's conclusion, 3OH!3 will hit the road once again, this time as headline act on the Vans Warped Tour 2009. A full itinerary and on-sale information will be announced in the coming weeks. This marks the second consecutive Vans Warped Tour for 3OH!3, whose explosive live set was unquestionably among the 2008 festival's biggest crowd-pleasers.
"Don't Trust Me," the first single from 3OH!3's full-length debut, "WANT," has proven a sensation, earning RIAA gold certification for digital sales now exceeding 700,000 and is currently blowing up the radio airwaves. Most recently added to New York's WHTZ (Z100), "Don't Trust Me" is receiving top phone requests at many stations nationwide including WEZB (New Orleans), WNOU (Indianapolis), KBKS (Seattle), KHKS (Dallas), WJBQ (Portland) and many more. The track remains a favorite on Billboard's "Hot 100," while also standing strong on the "Hot Digital Songs" and "Pop 100" charts. "Don't Trust Me" is a No 2 smash on iTunes' "Top Alternative Songs" chart while "WANT" has received over 1.2 million individual track downloads to date.
The "Don't Trust Me" companion video clip is also a sales triumph, coming in as the week's No 3 "Top Alternative Music Video" on iTunes. The clip - directed by Travis Kopach (Panic At The Disco, All Time Low, Circa Survive) and newcomer Isaac Ravishankara - is in rotation across the MTV spectrum, including MTV2, mtvU, MTV HITS, and MTV.com. "Don't Trust Me" is also receiving major play at both FUSE and Music Choice. 3OH!3 will shoot a video for "Starrstrukk" later this month.
Produced by Matt Squire (Panic At The Disco, Boys Like Girls), "WANT" sees 3OH!3 - a.k.a. beatmaster Nathaniel Motte and MC Sean Foreman - unleashing tongue-in-cheek rhymes and beats that incorporate '80s pop, electronica, and crunk hip-hop to deliver a knockout punch. The album has drawn copious critical acclaim, with further features appearing in Alternative Press and Rolling Stone.
Named "Artists To Watch" by Rolling Stone, which hailed the duo's "unhinged" live sets, "tuneful emo-pop hooks," "spastic electro grooves and aggro rapping," 3OH!3 followed the release of "WANT" with a number of high-profile television performances in recent months, including NBC's "Last Call with Carson Daly" and FUEL.TV's "The Daily Habit."
Furthermore, 3OH!3 appeared on a variety of 2008 year-end lists, including Alternative Press' "Readers Poll '08," which named the duo the year's "Most Underrated New Artist." In addition, the New York Post named "Don't Trust Me" to its "208 Best Songs of 2008" ranking, hailing the single as "trashy, gimmicky, super fun."
3OH!3's MySpace page - located at www.myspace.com/3oh3 - has proven wildly popular, with total plays now exceeding 56 million. The page has long been among the networking site's Top 10, this week marking 3OH!3 as the No 1 "Indie - Electronica" outfit, and No 5 "Indie" band overall.
