Los Angeles, CA. (Top40 Charts/ CineMedia Promotions) - Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack for SUNSHINE CLEANING, available digitally (iTunes and Amazon Digital) on March 10th and in stores on March 24, 2009. Michael Penn (Boogie Nights, The Anniversary Party) composed the score.

The brother of actors Sean and Chris, Michael Penn chose a career in music rather than follow his brothers into acting. His first single "No Myth" earned the 1990 MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist. Though none of his subsequent albums earned the commercial success of his 1989 debut "March", Penn consistently earned critical praise for his recordings. He has worked extensively writing music for film, scoring numerous films including Hard Eight, Boogie Nights, The Anniversary Party, American Teen, and The Last Kiss

In addition to the original score by Penn, SUNSHINE CLEANING features the songs "Cure For This" by Golden Smog, "Perfect Days" by Ken Andrews, "To The East" by Electrelane, "Barcelona" by Bodega, " Intro (Stay Here)" by Emile Millar, "Open For Business" by David Maizlin, and Norman Greenbaum's classic "Spirit In The Sky".

Once the high school cheerleading captain, Rose Lorkowski (Amy Adams) now finds herself a thirty-something single mother working as a maid. Her sister Norah (Emily Blunt) is still living at home with their dad (Alan Arkin), a salesman with a lifelong history of ill-fated get rich quick schemes. Desperate to get her son into a better school, Rose persuades Norah to go into the crime scene clean-up business with her to make some quick cash. In no time, the girls are up to their elbows in murders, suicides and other . specialized situations.

A single mom and her slacker sister find an unexpected way to turn their lives around in the off-beat dramatic comedy SUNSHINE CLEANING. Directed by Christine Jeffs (Rain, Sylvia), this uplifting film about an average family that finds the path to its dreams in an unlikely setting screened in competition at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival.

Overture Films presents SUNSHINE CLEANING in select theaters on March 13 and nationwide on March 27, 2009. SUNSHINE CLEANING original soundtrack on Lakeshore Records will be available via iTunes and Amazon Digital on March 10th and in stores on March 24, 2009.
