NEW YORK (Tom Petty Official Website) - Tom Petty has postponed his upcoming European tour with the Heartbreakers. The dates were supposed to get underway July 3 in the U.K., but the plans were pushed back after consultations with the European promoters.

It's expected that the shows will be rescheduled. No further information, including a possible reason for the delay, was available. It would have been the band's first European outing in more than 10 years.

Tom Petty's U.S. shows:
Chicago (Vic Theatre) on April 14, 16, and 17 and
Summerfest in Milwaukee on June 28.
