SCOTTSDALE, AZ (Top40 Charts/
Silver Medallion Official Website) - On March 27th they rocked the stage at the "Project Ethos: Culture Shock" red carpet event at the Vanguard in Los Angeles, after winning the MyStudio.net -
Battle of the Bands. Now the hot Arizona's rising stars,
Silver Medallion, are in Honolulu, Hawaii where they will be performing two shows at downtown Honolulu venue the Loft as well as numerous promotional appearances around the island of Oahu. These shows and appearances just begin to scratch the surface of
Silver Medallion's promotion of the upcoming release of their CD "Last of the Popstars," scheduled to be available for purchase this year in late May.
Silver Medallion (www.myspace.com/silvermedallion) has been described as "The next big thing!" by 944 Magazine, and their unique genre of hero-pop (hip hop, electro and rock) has been causing stirs in the industry as the band exploded out of Arizona in early 2009. With a pending record deal, the band, consisting of singer Oren J, mc Carnegie, and accompanied by DJ Epidemic, has been carefully deciding on the markets and promotions to surround their upcoming release. "We decided that the Hawaii market was perfect to focus on after LA, because we feel the community would really latch on to both the intimate feeling and international influences of Silver Medallion's music," said a label representative.
"We're just happy our sound is catching on nationwide. We've been presented with unbelievable opportunities since we went to LA in March," said singer Oren J, who also related how happy he is to be returning his hometown of Honolulu to perform for the first time since working with Silver Medallion. "We're live on KTUH radio in an hour being interviewed about who we are and everything we do. Tonight we DJ an 80's night, tomorrow a newspaper interviews us, and show on Friday. Things are definitely good!" shared Silver Medallion via phone from Hawaii.
The Loft (www.loft808.com) music venue is known for booking upcoming national talent to showcase in Hawaii. Silver Medallion will perform at Downtown's infamous first Fridays on May 1st, following a show on April 17th, and be in the midst of the burgeoning Hawaii arts scene. The show on the 17th is sponsored by Kilo Kai, a rum spiced with caramel and natural flavors and a product of Curacao (www.kilokai.com). Silver Medallion will also be performing downtown on the 25th at the launch for the Ground Up Modeling Agency (www.groundupagency.com).
The band will return to Arizona in May for more than a dozen shows, only to follow that up with national shows in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and more.
