WINNIPEG (Top40 Charts/ Canwest Global Communications) - Canwest Global Communications Corp. proudly announced today that Canada's best-loved rock 'n' roll icons, Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings, are supporting literacy through the Canwest Raise-a-Reader Concert Series. Partial proceeds from ticket sales from the cross-Canada tour by the legendary songwriting partners, will go to Canwest Raise-a-Reader to benefit local literacy groups in Canadian communities.
Bachman and Cummings will perform from their nearly endless songbook of mega-hits - from These Eyes, Laughing, Undun, No Sugar Tonight and American Woman to Takin' Care of Business, You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet, No Time and other gold and platinum hits - in the following Canadian cities: Victoria, Abbotsford, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Sudbury, Kitchener, Windsor, Kingston, Ottawa and Montreal.
Winnipeg's own Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings now join the likes of Bob Dylan, Sam Roberts, James Taylor, Anne Murray and Michael Buble - all incredible musical talents who have generously supported the Canwest Raise-a-Reader Concert Series since its launch in the fall of 2007.
