NASHVILLE, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Capitol Records Nashville) - Capitol Records Nashville has promoted Steve Hodges to SVP, Promotion. Hodges previously held the position of VP Promotion. He will report directly to Mike Dungan, President and CEO of Capitol Records Nashville.

Hodges has been an integral part of the Capitol Records Promotions team for over 15 years. Just in the last year and half with Hodges at the VP helm, the Capitol Nashville promotion team has taken three singles to the top spot in 2008 including the radio breakthrough debut single from Darius Rucker ('Don't Think I Don't Think About It') which spent two weeks at No 1; Keith Urban's 'You Look Good In My Shirt' and Trace Adkins' three-week No 1 award-winning single 'You're Gonna Miss This.'
Hodges and crew also landed four Top 5 singles in 2008 breaking another new act at radio in the process with Lady Antebellum's debut Top 5 single 'Love Don't Live Here.' In 2008, Billboard named Capitol Records Nashville the No 1 Top Country Imprint of the Year and the No 1 Hot Country Songs Imprint of the Year. Music Row named Capitol Records Nashville the Major Label of the Year for the 4th year in a row.
The streak for Hodges and his team continues in 2009 with already three No 1 singles (Dierks Bentley's 'Feel That Fire,' Keith Urban's 'Sweet Thing,' and Darius Rucker's 3-week No 1 'It Won't Be Like This For Long'). Between these three singles the Capitol Records Promotion team held the No 1 spot captive for six out of eight weeks in February and March of this year, and currently has two songs climbing in the Top 10 with Keith Urban's 'Sweet Thing' and Dierks Bentley's 'Sideways.'
Hodges came to Capitol Records Nashville in 1994 as Midwest Regional Director Promotion and then became the Regional Director for the Southeast. In 2005 he was promoted to Sr. Director National Promotion for Capitol Records Nashville and then in 2006 was promoted to VP, Promotion for the label. Prior to joining to Capitol Records Nashville, Hodges was program director at KDDK in Little Rock, AR and music director at Little Rock's KIKX.
