 NEW YORK (Bradway online news magazine) - Toni Braxton is set to return to Broadway in the title role of Elton John & Tim Rice's Aida The singer has signed on for a four-month stint at New York's Palace Theater from June 30. She made her Broadway debut in the role of Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, also at the Palace. "I am very excited to be coming back to Broadway as Aida," Braxton said in a statement. "Ever since I was a little girl, I have been a fan of Elton John's music and to be able to sing the wonderful score he wrote with Tim Rice will be a terrific challenge both as a singer and as an actress." Braxton, who recently left Arista to sign a deal with Blackground Records, has plans to release a new album on September 16.
