NEW YORK (IRAWMA press release) - Efrim Martin, president of Martin's Inter-Culture, Ltd. host of the a star studded awards expressed his obvious delight saying. "I am truly proud and honored to have the opportunity to bring these meaningful awards to New York City, the music capital of the world and to publicly honor entertainers that has impacted so many countries in their various fields of musical entertainment."
Martin added, "We ask your support in honoring the entertainers for their distinguished contribution and bringing musical joy to New York City on May 9,2003

The IRAWMA awards began in 1982 in Chicago, as the first and now the only awards ceremony honoring Reggae, Soca Latin & World Music entertainersfor their talent and contributions to these various fields of music.

The International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA) has hosted these award ceremonies successfully over the years in cities as Miami, New Orleans, and Atlanta and for the past two years in Jamaica, West Indies, "The Reggae Land." As the awards ceremony grew both national and internationally, the music industry has encouraged that the IRAWMA ceremony be held in New York City. The music capital of the World.
