LOS ANGELES (Capitol Records press release) - Capitol Records has announced the July 22 release of "Hypersonic," the first all-new studio album from Jane's Addiction in more than a dozen years. Released in conjunction with the band's hotly anticipated, headlining return to this summer's Lollapalooza tour, the eleven-track collection reunites vocalist Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, and drummer Stephen Perkins with newly-recruited bassist Chris Chaney (Andrew W.K., Tommy Lee, Rob Zombie).

Produced by the legendary Bob Ezrin-the producer behind such seminal rock recordings as Pink Floyd's "THE WALL," Alice Cooper's "SCHOOL'S OUT," Kiss' "DESTROYER," and Lou Reed's "BERLIN"-"Hypersonic" finds the groundbreaking group extending its ever-innovative sound with a musical immediacy that's poignant, spiritual and utterly sonic.
From the explosive lead single, "Just Because," to Farrell's vocally dynamic, live-wire rocker "Price I Pay," swirling, Navarro-driven "Wrong Girl," and Perkins' frenetic drumming on the title track -"Hypersonic" finds Jane's Addiction at its gripping, uncompromising best.

"Hypersonic" joins the legendary canon of Jane's Addiction studio albums -- including 1987's "JANE'S ADDICTION," 1988's RIAA platinum "NOTHING'S SHOCKING," and 1990's RIAA double platinum "RITUAL DE LO HABITUAL."

Jane's Addiction exploded out of L.A.'s gritty music scene in the mid-1980s onto an unsuspecting world with their larger-than-life amalgam of punk, metal, indie, prog, folk, and anything else that struck their fancy. Sacrificing none of their artful ferocity in gaining an enormous worldwide audience, Jane's Addiction has profoundly influenced everything from music to touring to fashion to visual arts to the culture at large.
