New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Schapelle Corby Support) - A new song by New York indie-pop artist, Tara Hack, has raised difficult issues for Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. The track "The Wizard Down Under", reminds Mr Rudd of his statement in 2005, urging substantive support to bring the release of imprisoned human rights abuse victim Schapelle Corby. Since gaining power he has taken no steps at all to support her, and has ignored her increasingly desperate plight.

The song covers the full canopy of events: the human rights abuses, the sordid politics, the media, the global protest, and Schapelle Corby's rapidly deteriorating condition. Its punch line chorus though is a stark uncomplicated and simple appeal to Kevin Rudd:

"So let's all go see the wizard
Down under in OZ
And tell Kevin Rudd
That we've got a cause
Do you know Schapelle Corby
Well she's from OZ, too
John Howard was a coward
Now it's all up to you"

Rachel James, of the Schapelle.Net website states: "This is an amazing piece of music, from a hugely talented artists. It is courageous too, as it names names, and pulls no punches at all in exposing the truth."

Jan Fielding the head of Margin House Records is equally impressed: "Protest song story telling of this quality hasn't been seen for a great many years. It is indeed an exceptional work, and is a guaranteed worldwide internet hit, especially in North America and Europe, where airplay won't be restricted by politicians. The kick at the very end of the song, of Schapelle Corby's anguished cries, is a masterstroke, reminding the listener that this is not fiction but a real life."

THE VIDEO
The song is supported by a striking video, which provides some extremely disturbing footage. This was produced in the UK, again illustrating the global nature of the concern at Schapelle Corby's condition and the lack of help from the Australian government.

Ms James continued: "The world is watching Mr Rudd in disbelief. Schapelle Corby's health is failing rapidly, and he hasn't lifted a finger to help her. Cruelty doesn't even begin to describe what she is now suffering."

The MP3 is available as a free download, from the following page:

KEVIN RUDD
In a separate development, a European human rights advocate has registered Mr Rudd's mobile internet domain name, www.KevinRudd.mobi, and placed a copy of Rudd's 2005 Schapelle Corby statement on it.
