NY (AP) - Shortly before her death in 1998, Linda McCartney finished putting together a book of photographs she had taken during the previous three decades. Light From Within, which took her two years to compile, is finally being released in October. The diaristic collection, with a foreword written by husband Paul, includes intimate portraits of her family, iconographic still-life shots, and images of musicians - Pete Townshend, Beach Boy Al Jardine, Janis Joplin, Frank Zappa - encountered while Linda was house photographer at the legendary Fillmore East theater in the late Sixties. "I love her pictures of me from that time," Townshend says. "I remember her as being very straight and direct, but kind of swirling, blond, limpid. I was such a fan of hers - everything about her."
