LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ SSMF) - The second annual SUNSET STRIP MUSIC FESTIVAL (SSMF) - set for Thursday, September 10 through Saturday, September 12, 2009 - is ready to take the music into the street. In addition to live performances at signature Sunset Strip venues the Cat Club, House of Blues, Key Club, The Roxy Theatre, Viper Room and Whisky A Go-Go, this year's SSMF includes the first-ever street fest on the legendary Sunset Strip.

Artists performing during the Saturday, Sept. 12 street festival include CHRIS CORNELL, PEPPER, KOTTONMOUTH KINGS, LMFAO, SHWAYZE, SHINY TOY GUNS, UNWRITTEN LAW, THE DONNAS, FISHBONE, IGLU & HARTLY, LIVING THINGS, THE RINGERS, THE PRICKS, NICO STAI and THENEWNO2.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, July 24 via Ticketmaster. Street festival tickets are available for a special three-day sale rate of $35 through July 26. Beginning July 27, tickets will be $39.50.

West Hollywood's Sunset Strip has birthed countless music and entertainment careers, and it continues to blaze its own path as a leading destination with a vibrant and entertaining landscape. The Strip's six music venues will host dozens of various musical acts (exact venue schedules to be announced soon), and for the first time The Sunset Strip (between Doheny Drive and San Vicente Blvd.) will be closed to host two concert stages on Saturday, which is expected to draw 10,000 people. In addition to live music on the street from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., The Strip will be set up with an array of food and drink vendors and all the clubs within the enclosed area (The Roxy Theatre, Key Club, Whisky A Go-Go and Cat Club) will feature shows for those who purchase tickets to the street fest.

"Last year's Sunset Strip Music Festival was a tremendous success for The Sunset Strip. The addition of the street festival will allow even more people to enjoy the music and energy of The Sunset Strip," noted SSMF Executive Director Todd Steadman. "This event also allows members of the community to rediscover the iconic boulevard."

"The street fest is part music festival, part club experience and part celebration of The Sunset Strip," adds The Roxy Theatre owner Nic Adler. "We have taken the best of The Strip and squeezed it into three blocks. More than 20 bands during the day, performances in the venues, two outdoor stages-all on the world famous Sunset Strip. It's about time."

A wide variety of ticketing options will be available for music fans including:

SSMF will honor rock legend Ozzy Osbourne at a tribute event Thursday, September 10 that kicks off the three-day festival. The event honors icons who have made an impact on the legacy of The Sunset Strip. On his first U.S. tour with Black Sabbath in 1970, the band performed a five-night stand (November 11-15) at the legendary Whisky A Go-Go. Ozzy Osbourne's career has spanned four decades and his music is as relevant today as ever. The multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has sold over 100 million albums worldwide-50 with Black Sabbath and as many as a solo artist-and in 2003 was honored with a star on Hollywood Boulevard's "Walk of Fame."

The first SSMF was held in June 2008 with the goal to "promote, preserve and perpetuate the legendary Sunset Strip Music Experience." Sponsors for SSMF 2009 include the City of West Hollywood, Virgin America, V Australia, Jack Daniel's, Ticketmaster, West Hollywood Marketing & Visitors Bureau, Signature Creative and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Street production provided by Swing House Hollywood.

SSMF is also pleased to announce Clear Channel Radio Los Angeles is the official radio partner for the event-headed by 98.7 FM and followed by support from KIIS FM, HOT 92 and MYfm. The stations will provide premium ticket packages for listeners as well as access to special events. Clear Channel Radio Los Angeles will also host a gifting lounge for SSMF artists, celebrities and media on Friday, Sept. 11 (details TBA).

"We are delighted to partner with these amazing brands whose ultimate goal is putting the customer first and providing an exceptional experience," noted Festival Managing Director Karmen Beck. "We hope to do precisely that at the Sunset Strip Music Festival, offering our attendees a plethora of diverse entertainment options at an incredible value."
