New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ AMSi) - ROK Entertainment Group, the mobile technologies, applications and services company, has today announced its partnership with leading digital media firm, AMS
Interactive (AMSi) to develop full-service web and mobile portals for the streaming of on-demand music.
'We believe the future of music consumption is not through the traditional ownership of songs via download or through the purchase of CD's,' said Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman and CEO of ROK 'but rather in what will become an ever-increasingly popular trend of 'renting' vast libraries of music from which listeners will be able to stream exactly the genre of music they want, on-demand, whenever and wherever they are through a variety of media, including the internet and mobile phones.'
ROK has amassed a broad portfolio of revenue-generating mobile services (www.rokent.com), including the award-winning ROK TV which enables the stream of live and on-demand video to mobile phones over mass-market 2.5G as well as over 3G. ROK has successfully launched its subscription-based mobile TV services with several Mobile Operators worldwide.
'We are thrilled to be working with ROK on this incredibly exciting initiative in mobile/web converged music delivery,' said Ed Seeger, Chairman of AMSi 'as, together, we have the technology, the experience and the ability to build a new model for music delivery.'
AMSi specializes in the deployment of customizable audio content platforms for retail and corporate customers to include the ability to deliver marketing messages directly at point of sale as well as providing interactive online music delivery services featuring song skipping, favorites tracking, countdown channels, and robust search features.
'We are working on several business models for the on-demand music streaming services we are developing with AMSi, to include advertising-funded and free-from-advertising subscription models, enabling people to have access to a massive library of music of all genres, anytime they wish and irrespective of their spending power,' added Kendrick.
