Music Week announced today the launch of its brand new interactive social networking site geared at bringing musicians, labels, brand managers and music fans together.

To celebrate the 5th year of British Music Week since it was opened by ex-Mayor Ken Livingstone. A new awards show has also been announced to take place annually at this year's event.
The Download Music Awards launches for the 1st time at British Music Week 2009 on the 2nd of October 2009.
The awards show will be the 1st international awards show of its kind to embrace the whole download music industry and celebrate the achievements of acts that have been extremely successful within the download music market.
Nominees for each categories will be voted for by the public.
