New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Union State Records) - When critically-acclaimed alt. rock band Hypnogaja released their debut album, Revolution, at the turn of the millenium, the main roads for promotion were traditional: radio, retail, press, clubs. Today, with the advent of social media, the horizon for promoting music and finding fans is forever changed. Hypnogaja has now reached 1,000,000 Twitter followers, something that is expected of celebrities like Ashton Kutcher (who reached the million mark several months ago) but previously unimaginable for independent artists with grassroutes resources as their only means of visibility.

This past summer, Hypnogaja released Truth Decay, their fifth studio LP - a sci-fi romance fantasy concept recording, which was given 9 out of 10 stars by Outburn Magazine and hailed as 'an expertly crafted album.' To promote the release of the album, the band gave away a new song a week along with a blog entry from fictional characters discussing the record's back story. Hypnogaja used sites like Twitter to deliver links to the songs, and it successfully paid off in increasing the sextet's ever-growing fan base.

Hypnogaja tweets regularly about new recordings and releases, shows, the creative process and life in general. 'We're really excited to have the ability to now reach more people than ever before,' says Hypnogaja's lead vocalist, Jason 'ShyBoy' Arnold. 'Making music is great. Having a way to share it with one another is even better.'

Numerous hit TV shows, films and video games (including the CW's America's Next Top Model, HBO's Sex And The City and Warner Bros.' FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage) have featured Hypnogaja's tracks, described by hit songwriter/producer Wendy Waldman (Garth Brooks, Vanessa Williams) as 'sophisticated songs that cater to no trend.' The band is currently in the studio working on new material for 2010, which will include a cover of the classic Donna Summer hit, 'On The Radio.'
