LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Crawford Madsen Productions) - The youthful post-grunge foursome Deadwood Creek is wasting no time in exploding on the hard-rock map. Formed in Colorado, the metallic collective are flying to Los Angeles for a show at the legendary Whisky A Go-Go on Jan. 16, opening for iconic headbangers L.A. Guns. Featuring vocalist/guitarist Tyler Halsey, guitarist Dave Hatton, bassist Trent Parsons, and drummer Patrick Madsen, Deadwood Creek have just released their self-titled debut album. The CD, produced by Allen Madsen and Bill Douglass, who has previously worked with the Smashing Pumpkins, is a fiery blend of classic-rock raw power and grungy guitar crunch. Influenced equally by alternative all-stars from the '90s such as Nirvana and the Red Hot Chili Peppers as well as '70s FM rock-radio staples like Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith, Deadwood Creek free themselves from the arty pretensions and bogus insights of emo, opting instead for straightforward, melodic AOR songs. In a sense, Deadwood Creek is a throwback to the days when a rock group's simple mission was to electrify the stage with guitar heroics; however, they have a modern aesthetic, too, capturing the ennui and agony of being young with an uncompromising eye. The band's versatility is prominently displayed on the album, from the bluesy atmospherics of "Hate Train" to the gut-slamming chords of "Freak of Disaster." Favorites on My Space, Deadwood Creek have been building a reputation for their charged, axe-shredding live performances since their early gigs. Now Los Angeles will finally see what the noise is all about. https://www.myspace.com/deadwoodcreek
