LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts/
Earshot Media) - U.K. juggernauts ENTER SHIKARI, known for an eclectic sound that audaciously melds hardcore punk with pulse-pumping drum'n'bass and dark, gut-churning dubstep, are set to join A Day To Remember,
August Burns Red and Silverstein on the North American TOURSICK tour starting March 30th in Ft Lauderdale, FL. A number of dates are already sold out. The band will then join the Vans Warped Tour from June 24-July 18th.
The band's latest release, Common Dreads (which debuted at No 7 in the UK) is the follow-up to the gold-certified debut Take To The Skies-which also debuted in the UK top 10, earning the band headlining gigs and regular spots on the major worldwide festival circuit. The band's most recent U.K. headline tour culminated with a triumphant show in front of over 5000 fans at the Hammersmith Apollo.
Common Dreads is available digitally in the United States via the band's own imprint Ambush Reality in partnership with DGC/Interscope Records. The physical release will be available in all Hot Topic stores beginning April 13th. Fans can also purchase the album at all shows as well as from the band's merch store: https://www.gomerch.com/interface/body.php?module=store&id=95.
For the latest album, the group headed to the isolated Isle Of Wight and holed-up at Arreton Manor studio for three months with veteran producer Andy Gray (U2, Tori Amos, Korn, Gary Numan). Common Dreads is a 15-song soundtrack for an entire generation on a mission to define the era in which it was born: one of recession, paranoia, state control and the fallout of decades of accelerated capitalism; and on the other side, an era of hope, creativity, humanity, hedonism, irreverence and fun. 'Politics are unavoidable,' explains lead vocalist ROU REYNOLDS. 'We just can't write sappy music. Our first album was cryptic and metaphor-heavy, this one is more direct. Since we gained popularity, we realized, whether we like it or not, we have the ability to influence people-and with that is a responsibility to speak our minds.' Common Dreads is destined to unite the tribes, divide the critics and thoroughly satisfy anyone who has witnessed the mad live spectacle that is ENTER SHIKARI.
Enter Shikari is: Rou Reynolds (vocals / electronics) Rory Clewlow (guitar / backing vocals) Chris Batten (bass / vocals) Rob Rolfe (drums).
UK raves for ENTER SHIKARI:
Hailing from the wilds of St. Albans, Enter Shikari brought their electronic hardcore to the masses with their hugely successful debut, Take To The Skies, and on number two they've stepped up their game. The songs are more than just Foo Fighters numbers run through a Moog keyboard. They stand alone as sing-along monsters that at times are genuinely angry. Best track: 'Zzzonked' is like a calculator at a riot' - FHM
'...Delivered a punchy, dynamic set weighted in favour of new material. The band's excellent second album...nods towards the agro-merchants Gallows, The Prodigy and The King Blues and consequently new songs like 'Step Up' sound more muscular and menacing...' - Kerrang!
'...the show is a relentlessly fun bombardment of the senses. Frontman Rou Reynolds is a man set on destroying everything: the speakers, the monitors, the Barfly, himself, our ear-drums and, most impressively, the divide between band and fan. ...You can certainly see why Enter Shikari have such a strong fan-base: it's earned through dedication and sheer hard work, rather than merely bought through contrived marketing. The songs themselves feed off this relationship: amplified by the chaos of fans climbing pillars or jumping off amps, they feel urgent, unpredictable and exciting'. NME
'Enter Shikari didn't disappoint, with an exhilarating set complete with impressive light show and the fans equaling the band in terms of energy.' Big Cheese
