New York, NY (TOP40 Charts/ MZN Indie Radio) -- MZN Indie Radio presents Steve Russell on Blogtalk radio April 28th 8pm est. With a career in music, which spans two decades, Steve commenced his musical journey as part of the platinum-selling group Troop, known for such chart stoppers as Mamacita, Spread My Wings and All I Do (Is Think Of You). After a decade with Troop, Steve decided to focus on his other talents, specifically songwriting and production. Hed honed these skills under such legends as Kenneth Babyface Edmonds, Chuckii Booker and Gerald Levert during his tenure with Troop. He also lent his well known voice to background vocals on Babyfaces Tender Lover album and Merry-Go-Round for Keith Sweat.

In 2000, Steve would embark upon a long and creative relationship as part of the successful production team, The Underdogs. There he continued his winning streak through co-writing and co-producing hits like 2009 Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson's debut self-titled CD, and Grammy nominated No Air for Jordin Sparks and Chris Browns Take You Down, in addition to his contributions to the projects of Justin Timberlake, Beyonc, Aretha Franklin, Kelly Clarkson, Toni Braxton, Tyrese, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, Mario, Omarion, B2K, Joe, Tank, Katherine McPhee, Brian McKnight. Elliot Yamon, David Archuletta, and Chanj. The Underdogs moved into feature films with the soundtrack for Dreamgirls (2006) and music for NBA star Lebron James film More Than A Game (2008). No Air also garnered the 2009 ASCAP Pop Music Award Winner for one of the most performed songs of the year.

Steve is moving onto the next phase in his phenomenal career. Leaving The Underdogs last year, he created his own production company, The Motel Media Music, while remaining in high demand as a producer and writer. Steve contributed seven songs for R&B legend Charlie Wilsons CD Uncle Charlie which was nominated for a Grammy in 2010 as Best R&B Album.

But the jewel in the crown of his new production venture is his own solo project due to be formally released this year. Titled So Random, includes collaborations with legendary producer Chuckii Booker, James Fauntleroy, Harvey Mason Jr., Luke Boyd and The Runners. This R&B masterpiece will soothe the soul, inspire love, and make you feel again! The first single, Bring It Back, co-written with Kandi Burruss of Xscape and star of Real Housewives of Atlanta, is currently gaining momentum across the nation, impacting radio, and is on the fast track to becoming yet another hit for Steve. You remember falling in love to the music of Troop. Now you can continue with the music that has become the soundtrack of our lives with Steve Russells amazing new work.
