Beyonce is up for best album, best single and best video as well as best R&B act.
As the popularity of R&B, hip-hop and reggae have risen in recent years, the Mobo Awards have become the main prizes for black music.
The majority of awards are voted for by the public. This year's ceremony will be held at the Royal Albert Hall on 25 September.
