New York , NY (Top40 Charts/ TCOOO Productions) - In a world of internet hype, American idols, auto-tune superstars and artists looking for the next hit ringtone, it is not an easy task to find real talent. Reggae music has done just that however. Thanks to a young artist who coins himself as the New
Millennium Rasta, the reggae community has a lot to be excited about. His name is MasSicker and if ever there was a breath of fresh air in music, MasSicker is that.
On his very first single 'Look around', released on the TCOOO Productions label, the artist was mentioned with the likes of Damian Marley, Gyptian, Jah Cure among others as the future legends of reggae. He is the only artist who arrived on the scene in the last two years to have a song on the ITunes Essentials: Rising Stars of Reggae. Not a small feat under any circumstance but even more impressive considering that the artist is only twenty three years old.
Along with his smooth and addictive vocals, MasSicker is also an exceptional writer with uplifting lyrics that are already being compared to Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Dennis Brown.
The artist just released a compilation of his songs under his moniker 'New Millennium Rasta' and if the feedback so far is any indication, this EP will do great things for the artist.
The EP contains his hit singles 'Mek dem gwaan', 'Look Around' along with the lead track 'New Millennium Rasta'. There are also smooth songs for the ladies such as 'Touch you right there' and 'Lovers Melody'. Probably the most controversial song on the album is the TCOOO produced 'Burn a wife beater' where the singer cries out against the abuse of women by the men who promised to love them.
While most of the tracks are produced by MityMaose of ViralSounds, the EP also contains a remake of the classic 'Coming in from the cold' instrumentals.
The EP is well put together and reggae fans will have great joy as they listen to this young new artist as he takes reggae to new heights.
New Millennium Rasta is available on ITunes, Amazon or wherever you purchase music.
