New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Mendes Brothers) - The award-winning musical group Mendes Brothers was awarded with U.S. Congressional, State and City recognitions for their new album, Porton de Regresso 1 (The Gate of Return 1), commemorating the 550th Anniversary of Cape Verde Islands.

The group was presented with the Congressional Certificate of Recognition by the U.S. Congressman Howard L. Berman, a Certificate of Recognition from California Legislature Assembly by Assemblyman, Bob Blumenfield, and a Certificate of Commendation from the City of Los Angeles by City Councilwoman, Jan Perry (9th District).

The awards were presented to the group during their 9th album release event, held at the prestigious Museum of Tolerance, a Simon Wiesenthal Center, in Los Angeles, in recognition of the group's worldwide efforts in promotion of unity, peace and innovation in the music industry.
