New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Icelandair) - As part of the recent Inspired by Iceland campaign, Iceland will host a free open air concert on July 1, 2010, 4:00 PM ET. The "Iceland Inspires" concert will be held throughout the country at some of the most scenic and unpronounceable locations Iceland has to offer, including performances near the now famous Eyjafjallajv?kull volcano, and Hamragarv8ar near Seljalandsfoss, one of Iceland's most stunning waterfalls.

An eclectic line-up of musicians will wow audiences along with their breathtaking backdrops as their performances stream live around the world on www.inspiredbyiceland.com . This special inspiring concert will include live and pre-recorded performances by Kjartan from Sigur Ros in Amiina, Sugarcubes drummer Sigtryggur Baldursson and his new band Parabolur, Damien Rice, Dikta, Gus Gus, and Hjaltalv?n.

Headlining the event are Spiritualized, who will be joined by a host of Icelandic bands as well as other inspired musicians from around the globe. Iceland has always been recognized as a hotbed for unique and creative musical talent and the homeland to such legendary performers as Bjork and Sigur Ros. For those unable to attend the Iceland Inspires concert, be sure and make your plans now for the 12th annual Iceland Airwaves Music Festival taking place in Reykjavik, October 13-17, 2010. See why David Fricke from Rolling Stone calls this "the hippest long weekend on the annual music-festival calendar." This year's line up will include Iceland's most promising acts sharing the stage with bands like Think About Life from Canada, Joy Formidable from The U.K., Junip from Sweden and Oh No Ono from Denmark.

Icelandair, Iceland's National carrier is offering a special Iceland Airwaves "early bird" package price. Book by July 1, 2010 and the Iceland Airwaves Music package is only $549* per person, based on double occupancy. This festival has been known to sell out quickly in the past, so while you are being Inspired by Iceland make sure to see it for yourself.

Icelandair offers service to Iceland from Boston, New York-JFK, Seattle, and seasonal service from Minneapolis - St. Paul, Orlando Sanford, Halifax and Toronto. Connections through Icelandair's hub at Keflavik International Airport are available to over 20 destinations in Scandinavia, the U.K. and Continental Europe.
